1. The pig and they crayfish both have bilateral symmetry. This means that they can be divided into two halves evenly.
The starfish has radial symmetry, which means it is symmetrical around an axis.

  1. Advantages -
    • Sensory Antennae – The sensory antennae helps with sensing touch, vibration, taste, smell, heat, etc. Their main advantage is that they help organisms feel where they are going or what they are around.
    • Skin Receptors – Skin receptors are advantageous to quite a few organisms, but not all. They sense pain, temperature, touch, and pressure. Skin receptors are about the same as sensory antennae with what they are used for.
    • Mouth Parts – The mouth parts are pretty important to the organisms. The mouth is where each animal eats from. If there were no mouth on a certain animal, then it would not be able to live. The tongue in the mouth lets an organism know if something is good or not, just like ours do.
    • Appendages - Appendages are a part or organ, such as an arm, leg, tail, or fin, that is joined to the axis or trunk of a body. They allow an animal to flex or move around. For example: The crayfish has a tail like it does because it is a water organism, its tail allows it to swim around. It also has claws for it to be able to grab its food. Pigs have feet to walk on. Starfish have tiny suction cup like things under them, which allows them to stick somewhere along the ocean floor. Starfish can also regenerate themselves from one piece of their body, such as a ray.

My question is; Why do pigs have flat noses?
  • There wasn't really a whole lot of information on why they have them. Pigs use their noses to dig around for food. By having the flat, round nose, it makes it easier for them to sense their food. They have a very good sense of smell. A pigs food is found mostly underground for them, so they have to be able to get to it easier.
